We at Climate Resistance are no fans of the Bush administration, but it seems to us that, if the US were to tie themselves to the framework - whatever it turns out to be - it would be against the interests of Americans. (We believe that the same is true of any other country, too, incidentally - it's not really in anyone's interests). In this respect, we find ourselves curiously aligned with GWB, if indeed it is he who is wrecking the Bali Roadmap. For he is one of the few who appears to be representing people's actual interests - err, you know, like, in a democratic kind of a way.

I know exactly what you mean by that. I find myself strangely detached from a liberalism which appears to have gone down with apocalyptic fever worse than fundamentalist sects of the past.

I wonder whether it is liberalism, or just a rewarmed Marxism hiding behind the Green.

Certainly the focus not upon the climatically important total amount of carbon dioxide but the Marxist-focus on "per capita" emissions would lead me to the conclusion that the real point of Kyoto and successor economic death pacts is not the environment, but upon the market economies of the Western World.

If the Greens really believed that carbon dioxide was really this dread molecule strangling all life on earth, then they'd be calling for boycotts on China and India as well as the US.

But they're not. They appear to be completely unconcerned about the total amount of CO2

I know exactly what you mean by that. I find myself strangely detached from a liberalism which appears to have gone down with apocalyptic fever worse than fundamentalist sects of the past.

I wonder whether it is liberalism, or just a rewarmed Marxism hiding behind the Green.

Certainly the focus not upon the climatically important total amount of carbon dioxide but the Marxist-focus on “per capita” emissions would lead me to the conclusion that the real point of Kyoto and successor economic death pacts is not the environment, but upon the market economies of the Western World.

If the Greens really believed that carbon dioxide was really this dread molecule strangling all life on earth, then they’d be calling for boycotts on China and India as well as the US.

But they’re not. They appear to be completely unconcerned about the total amount of CO2
