Fundamentally, ignorance has filtered up from the public high schools into the ranks of scientists and their administrators.

Nothing in nature is a "balance". If it were, then there would be no evolution or speciation.

Each and every day the sun rises and sets, changing the temperature, and illumination by extraordinary amounts. If nature were incapable of handling and responding to extremes, then the change between 32F (morning) and 55F (afternoon) yesterday here in Kent, WA would have destroyed all life as we know it! Yes, that's right, in a single day, the temperature changed over 23 degrees Fahrenheit and yet somehow I was able to take a ride on my bicycle and survive these extremes!

The world is never balanced, nor is nature's response. The world is dynamic and competitive...it's a non-stop free-for-all of change and adaptation. Almost no one in the atmospheric sciences or the Green movement, who portend to want to "save" nature seem to understand this!
