It sounds as if Monbiot and Jasievicz are repeating the famous conflict between Marx and Bakunin which led to the demise of the First International. Who was it said; History repeats itself, first as tragedy, the second time as farce? But I like Ms Jasievicz's idea of an anti-roads campaign supported by travellers ...

Yes, and the common theme is that everyone must be subordinated to the struggle to achieve the goal that they have defined. There is no room for an individual, let alone an individual viewpoint, in this struggle.

We have previously seen how "history" or "destiny" both supported by a perversion of science (was "scientific communinism" ever tested in the lab?) have been used as rallying points by people who, not so deep down, just like telling other people what to do.

A good summary of current enviromentalists and their positions. How you have the patience to analyze the rantings of the likes of the Jazzie Witch, I don't know: "We need a revolution"

The only constant through all the political and philosophical fads with these people, is the call for Revolution. Who cares the excuse.

And the purpose of this revolution these people seek is indeed empowerment ... of themselves.
